KTU Alumnus and Filmmaker Issaka Osumanu “BKay” Selected Among Top 10 Finalists for Ghana’s First Children’s Film Festival

Koforidua Technical University (KTU) alumnus and Founder of Bkay Studios, Issaka Osumanu, has been selected as one of the top 10 finalists for Ghana’s first Children’s Film Festival, organised by UNICEF Ghana.

Osumanu, popularly known as BKay, who studied Computer Networking at KTU and graduated in 2019, was shortlisted after rigorous screening of over 300 submissions received nationwide for the inaugural project, which supports emerging filmmakers to tell stories on children’s lives, voices and rights.

The 10 finalists will receive six weeks of mentorship and production support to complete their work ahead of the film festival in November 2026.

Bkay described his inclusion in the UNICEF Ghana project as an opportunity to “learn, grow and tell a story that matters through the eyes of children and child rights”.

Through Bkay Studios, the KTU alumnus continues to build a career in film production and visual storytelling focused on African narratives.

He is set to premiere his movie “KofTown: Beneath the Surface” on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Abba Bentil Andam Theatre Hall, KTU campus.
