Mature Applicants

Koforidua Technical University (KTU) offers a special admission route for mature applicants who may not have entered through the regular route but have the age and working experience to pursue tertiary education, leading to a Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) qualification.

Eligibility & Requirements

To be admitted as a mature applicant, you must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Applicants must be twenty-five (25) years old and must show proof of age with a birth certificate and/or Ghana Card.
  • Must have five (5) years of working experience in the relevant discipline.
  • Applicants must be holders of either of the following:
    1. SSSCE Candidates: A minimum of “E” in six (6) subjects, comprising three (3) core subjects (including English Language and Mathematics) and three (3) relevant elective subjects.
    2. WASSCE Candidates: A minimum of “E8” in six (6) subjects, comprising three (3) core subjects (including English Language and Mathematics) and three (3) relevant elective subjects.
  • Applicants must pass a written test in English Language, Mathematics and General Knowledge to be conducted by Koforidua Technical University.
