Disruption of Academic Activities: Important Update to Students and Prospective Applicants

Koforidua Technical University (KTU) wishes to inform students, particularly newly admitted students, that the commencement of lectures and other academic activities scheduled for Monday, 12th October 2026, has been disrupted due to the ongoing industrial action by the Technical University Teachers Association of Ghana (TUTAG) and the Technical Universities Senior Administrators Association of Ghana (TUSAG).

While the industrial action has affected scheduled academic activities, the University encourages students to remain calm and make productive use of this period as Management continues to monitor developments.

Important Information for Fresh Students

All newly admitted students who have reported to campus are encouraged to use this period to complete the necessary admission and registration requirements ahead of the commencement of lectures.

Freshmen and freshwomen are particularly advised to undertake their mandatory medical examinations at the University Clinic and actively participate in orientation programmes being organised by their respective faculties and departments.

These orientation programmes are designed to introduce students to the University's academic environment, policies, facilities, student support services and general campus life.

Fresh students are also encouraged to familiarise themselves with their departments, lecture halls, faculty offices and other essential facilities on campus.

Admissions for the 2026/2027 Academic Year Still Ongoing

The University also wishes to remind prospective students and the general public that admissions for the 2026/2027 academic year are still ongoing.

Qualified applicants who wish to pursue their academic and professional aspirations at Koforidua Technical University are encouraged to apply for admission into the University's available programmes.

Prospective applicants can visit the official University website for information on academic programmes, admission requirements and application procedures.

Applications can be submitted through the University's online admission portal at https://applyonline.ktu.edu.gh.

Management's Assurance to Students

University Management regrets any inconvenience caused by the disruption of academic activities and assures students, parents, guardians and the entire University community that updates will be communicated as new developments emerge.

Students are encouraged to remain patient, stay focused on their academic preparation and rely on the University's official communication channels for accurate and timely information.

Koforidua Technical University remains committed to providing a supportive academic environment and ensuring that students receive the necessary information and guidance throughout this period.
