As part of the 20th Anniversary celebrations of the Computer Science Department and the Computer Science Students Association (COMPSSA), six (6) Competency-Based Training Clubs have been established. These include:

  • Web Application Development Club
  • Mobile Application Development Club
  • Database Management Club
  • Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Club
  • I.T. Entrepreneurship Club
  • Women in Tech Club

The clubs aim to complement classroom learning by engaging industry experts to provide practical, hands-on training in specialised fields.

On Friday, 3rd August 2025, the Web Application Development Club held its first hands-on session. Participants were trained in advanced web development skills by Mr. Elvis Addae, a Lead Software Developer based in Canada and an alumnus of the department.

Mr. Addae, renowned for creating several innovative web applications—including KTU’s first E-voting system and his key role in developing KTU-KONNECT introduced participants to the latest trends in web development and effective programming techniques.

Participants expressed deep appreciation to the organisers for this valuable training opportunity.
