Professional Profile

Simon Amonovi is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Electrical/Electronic Engineering at Koforidua Technical University (KTU), Koforidua, Ghana. He holds an HND in Computer Science and a B.Tech. in Telecommunication Engineering from KTU, and an M.Phil. in Telecommunication Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where he is currently pursuing a PhD degree.

Prior to joining academia, he worked as a Fibre Optics Maintenance Engineer, gaining industry experience in optical fibre network maintenance, fault detection, transmission systems, and field operations on major telecommunication networks in Ghana. His current research focuses on wireless communications, reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-assisted near-field wideband communication systems, and intelligent signal processing for next-generation networks, as well as optical fibre communication and machine-learning-based fibre-optic fault detection.
