QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 1. PROFESSOR

A person seeking an appointment as a Professor must:

  • Nationally and internationally be acknowledged as a teacher, scholar, and innovator in his/her field with significant contribution to industrial innovations, as well as contribution to the intellectual and professional reputation of his/ her University;
  • Have been appointed as a Professor in the relevant discipline in a public tertiary institution or a duly accredited private tertiary institution in Ghana or elsewhere;
  • Possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialization in one or more of the areas listed above;
  • Show evidence of capacity for continuous research and dissemination of knowledge through technology transfer and publications;
  • Have at least ten (10) relevant publications in recognized reputable peer-reviewed journals since promotion to the rank of Associate Professor.

Note:  Evidence of industry experience and membership in a recognized professional body will be an added advantage.

2. ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

A person seeking an appointment as an Associate Professor must:

  • Have been appointed as Associate Professor in the relevant discipline in a public tertiary institution or a duly accredited private tertiary institution in Ghana or elsewhere;
  • Possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialization;
  • Show evidence of outstanding performance in teaching, research, and industry-related innovations in the candidate’s subject area, as well as, contribution to the intellectual and professional reputation of his/her University;
  • Demonstrate capacity for continuous research and dissemination of knowledge through technology transfer and publications;
  • Have a minimum of eight (8) relevant publications in recognized reputable peer-reviewed journals, after promotion to Senior Lecturer.

Note: Evidence of industry experience and membership of a recognized professional body will be an added advantage.

  1. SENIOR LECTURER

A person seeking an appointment as a Senior Lecturer must:

  • Have been appointed as Senior Lecturer in the relevant discipline in a public tertiary institution or a duly accredited private tertiary institution in Ghana or elsewhere;
  • Possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialization;
  • Have taught for a minimum of four (4) years as a Lecturer;
  • Demonstrate the capacity for continuous research and publications;
  • Have a minimum of six (6) publications in recognized reputable peer-reviewed journals;

Note: Evidence of industry experience and membership in a recognized professional body will be an added advantage.

  1. LECTURER

 A person seeking an appointment as a Lecturer must:

  • Have been appointed as Lecturer in the relevant discipline in a public tertiary institution or a duly accredited private tertiary institution in Ghana or elsewhere;
  • Possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialization. 

Note: Membership in a recognized professional body will be an added advantage.

  1. ASSISTANT LECTURER

 A person seeking an appointment as an Assistant Lecturer must:

  • Possess a research Master’s degree in the relevant field of specialization.

Note: Membership in a recognized professional body will be an added advantage.

 

2. NON-TEACHING STAFF/ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS:

 1. JUNIOR / ASSISTANT REGISTRAR (LEGAL)

 Qualification and Experience Required:

Applicant must hold an LLM degree and must be a qualified Lawyer, duly registered by the Ghana Bar Association.

2. JUNIOR ASSISTANT REGISTRAR

Qualification and Experience Required:

Applicant must hold at least a Master’s degree preferably in Administration and Management related areas awarded by a recognised institution.

3. ACCOUNTANT

Qualification and Experience Required:

Applicant must:

  • Be a chartered Accountant and hold a Master’s degree in the relevant field;
  • Have served as an Assistant Accountant in a University or comparable grade in a similar institution/organization for at least three (3) years;
  • Be computer literate and be conversant with accounting software applications.

4. SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

 A person seeking appointment as Senior Administrative Assistant must:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in a related area awarded by a recognized institution or;
  • Have HND (Secretaryship and Management Studies) or relevant area of study awarded by a recognized institution, and must have worked as an Administrative Assistant in a comparable grade in a similar institution/organization for at least four (4) years. or;
  • Possesses a Private Secretary Certificate and has served as Administrative Assistant for five (5) years.

5. SENIOR ICT ASSISTANT 

Qualification and Experience Required:

Applicant must:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in ICT or its equivalent; or
  • HND in the relevant subject area and must have served as an ICT Assistant in a Technical University or comparable grade in a similar institution/Organization for at least four (4) years.
