Professional Profile

Engr. Maxwell Adarkwa Quaquah is a Lecturer at the Department of Energy Systems Engineering, Koforidua Technical University (KTU), Ghana. He is an expert in energy transformation and sustainable energy systems, with teaching and research interests spanning just energy transitions, green finance, renewable energy technologies (including solar and mini-hydro systems), and energy system optimization, design, and construction.

In addition to his expertise in renewable energy, he actively contributes to hydrogen energy research, focusing on underground hydrogen storage and natural gas utilization, drawing from his solid background in petroleum engineering.

Engr. Quaquah is a dedicated member of the Skills Sector Body for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in Ghana, where he supports policy-research-industry linkages to accelerate the country’s clean energy agenda.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana, and a Master’s degree in Georesources and Geoenergy Engineering (formerly Petroleum Engineering, LM-35 Environmental and Land Engineering) from the Politecnico di Torino (PoliTO), Italy.

His academic and professional journey reflects a strong commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions, bridging fossil-based expertise with renewable innovations to support Africa’s clean energy transition.
