Professional Profile
Mark Appeaning is a Medical Laboratory Scientist and Lecturer with over a decade of experience in clinical diagnostics, research, and academic instruction. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science and a Master of Philosophy degree in Immunology, both from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Molecular Cell Biology of Infectious Diseases at the University if Ghana. He has a strong track record in laboratory quality management and clinical research coordination. As a Lecturer at Koforidua Technical University, he teaches undergraduate biomedical science courses and supervises student research projects, with a focus on immunology, molecular diagnostics, and infectious diseases.
Mr. Appeaning is an active researcher with multiple peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals, including Frontiers in Epidemiology and Tropical Medicine and Infectious Disease, and has presented at several international conferences. His research interests include host immune responses, molecular pathogenesis of infectious diseases, molecular virology and clinical trial participation in African contexts. He is a member of several professional bodies, including the American Society for Microbiology (ASM), the African Society for Laboratory Medicine (ASLM) International AIDS Society (IAS) and the Royal Society of Biology.
