Professional Profile

Dr. Joseph Frempong is an accomplished Senior Lecturer and Researcher with over 15 years of progressive experience in higher education, marketing management, and applied research. He combines academic leadership with a robust research portfolio spanning services marketing, branding, social marketing, and sustainability communication.

He holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, complemented by an MBA in Marketing and a B.Sc. in Banking and Finance from the University of Ghana. His scholarly work has been published in leading international journals, including the Journal of Cleaner Production, Kybernetes, Sustainability, and the Journal of Creative Behavior.

He has demonstrated exceptional skill in curriculum design, research supervision, and academic governance, having served as Head of Department and Vice Dean within the Faculty of Business and Management Studies. He is deeply committed to promoting academic excellence, cross-cultural collaboration, and the integration of sustainability principles in management education and practice.

His research explores digital co-creation, sustainability communication, and consumer behavior within emerging markets, contributing valuable insights to both academia and policy. Proficient in quantitative and qualitative methodologies, he has guided numerous postgraduate projects and mentored early-career academics.

Beyond academia, Dr. Frempong’s professional background includes experience as a consultant in strategic planning and policy research, as well as audit management in the aviation sector. His interdisciplinary experience reinforces his practical understanding of marketing systems and organizational dynamics.

Fluent in English and proficient in French, with basic communication in Chinese and German, he actively participates in international research networks and conferences. He is also a peer reviewer for journals in marketing and sustainability, and currently serves as a Jury Member for the MTN Bright Scholarship Foundation.

His vision is to advance impactful, cross-disciplinary research that supports sustainable business practices and community development.
