Professional Profile

Dr. Emmanuel Gamor obtained his PhD in Hotel and Tourism Management from the prestigious School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) in Hong Kong (SAR). Dr. Gamor holds a Master of Philosophy in Hospitality Management and a Bachelor of Science with honours in Tourism from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He is a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) and a Certified Hotel Industry Analyst (CHIA) by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) and STR Inc.

He serves as the West Africa Area Consultant for the European Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (EuroCHRIE) and also as a verifier for the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET) in Ghana, and as an Academic Advisory Board Member for Hospitality Internships, LLC in the USA.

His teaching and research areas include human resource management, tourism development and marketing, sustainable tourism and tourist behaviour, hospitality and Tourism education, crisis management in tourism, food safety, employee well-being, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the workplace, demonstrating a commitment to inclusive practices that tackle systemic inequality to enhance society.

Emmanuel serves as an Editorial Board Member for top-tier journals including the International Journal of Tourism Research (IJTR), European Journal of Management Issues (EJMI), and the Asian Journal of Managerial Sciences (AJMS). He is also a reviewer for conference papers and many top-ranked journals in his field in Elsevier, Sage Publishing, Taylor and Francis, Routledge, Wiley, Springer Nature and Emerald Group Publishing, including the Annals of Tourism Research, International Journal of Hospitality Management, Journal of Hospitality Marketing & Management, Tourism Management Perspectives, Methodological Innovations, Tourism Recreation and Research, and the Journal of Hospitality, Leisure, Sports and Tourism Education.
