Professional Profile

Dr. Ebenezer Komla Gavua earned his Ph.D. in Information Science and Technology in 2024 from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Informatics, Miskolc, Hungary.

He also holds a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Computer Science and Technology from the University of Electronic Science and Technology, China, a Commonwealth Executive Masters in Business Administration, as well as, BSc in Computer Science from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology, Ghana, in 2010 and 2005, respectively.

He was appointed as a Senior Instructor at the Department of Computer Science in 2007, and in 2013, he was promoted to the rank of Lecturer. After dint of hard work, he was subsequently promoted to the rank of Senior lecturer in the same department in 2017.

His general research areas include Cloud Computing, Software Engineering, Mobile Application Development, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and Mobile Networking

His current research interest looks at maximising energy consumption in cloud technologies and efficient application of algorithms in cloud applications. He has attended several local and international conferences and made many presentations. Over the past 18 years, he has been involved in lecturing, researching students’ project work. He is also a reviewer for some scientific journals.

He was appointed the Head of the Computer Science Department in June 2025.
