GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR 4-YEAR B.TECH PROGRAMMES
- i) SSSCE Applicants
Passes (A-D) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science; and must possess three (3) passes in relevant elective subjects. The cumulative aggregate must be 24 or better.
- ii) WASSCE Applicants
Credit passes (A1-C6) in three core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science; and must possess three (3) credit passes (A1-C6) in three relevant elective subjects. The cumulative aggregate must be 36 or better.
(iii) GCE ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level Applicants
Applicants must possess six (6) GCE ‘O’ Level passes including English Language, Mathematics and General Science plus three (3) GCE ‘A’ Level passes in the relevant courses.
- iv) Applicants from Technical Institutions
Applicants from Technical Institutes must possess credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus credit passes in relevant elective courses.
Applicants from Technical Institutes with the requisite elective passes without passes in English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science may be admitted to a two (2) month intensive bridging (pre-degree) programme before formal admission to their programmes of choice after passing a selection examination.
- v) Applicants with Technician Certificate
Applicants with passes in Motor Vehicle Technicians II (MVT II) may also be considered for admission and will be enrolled at Level 200.
Applicants with passes in Motor Vehicle Technicians III (MVT III) may also be considered for admission and will be enrolled at Level 300.
- vi) HND Applicants
- HND graduates with the requisite specialization will enroll at level 300.
- HND graduates with requisite specialization will enroll at level 200 (Mechatronics Engineering)
- Applicants with University Diploma in the relevant subjects will enroll at level 300.
- Ordinary Technical Diploma (OTD) will enroll at level 200.
vii) Technician Applicants
At least Part II and III Technicians Certificate Holders in EET or Radio & Television or

GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR HND PROGRAMMES
- SSSCE/WASSCE APPLICANTS
- SSSCE Candidates: Passes (A-D) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies; and must possess a minimum of D in any three (3) of the passes relevant to the area of specialization.
- WASSCE Candidates: Passes (A1-D7) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies; and must possess a minimum of C6 in any three (3) of the passes relevant to the area of specialization.
- Alternatively, SSSCE/WASSCE Applicants with passes (A-D)/(A1-C6) in three core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies; and a minimum of D/C6 in any two (2) of the passes relevant to the area of specialization are eligible to apply
- GBCE/ ‘O’/A’LEVEL/ABCE APPLICANTS
Five (5) GBCE /GCE ‘O’-Level credit passes (including English Language and Mathematics) plus at least two (2) GCE ‘A’ level/ABCE passes excluding General Paper.
- APPLICANTS FROM TECHNICAL SCHOOLS (CERTIFICATE II APPLICANTS)
Applicants must have passes in three (3) subjects including English Language and Mathematics and Integrated Science plus three (3) relevant elective subjects/trade courses.
- DBS APPLICANTS
Four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes including English and Mathematics plus at least three (3) passes in relevant DBS subjects.
- TEACHER’S CERTIFICATE.
Applicant must have Three-Year Post-Secondary Certificate or Four-Year Certificate ‘A’ with a minimum of two (2) years teaching experience, plus three (3) GCE O-Level or SSSCE/WASSCE passes in relevant elective subjects.

- BRIDGING PROGRAMME
The Faculty of Engineering (FOE) may admit applicants who have D7 in any of the three (3) core subjects (i.e. English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus three (3) relevant electives subjects including Physics and Elective Mathematics with an aggregate not exceeding 36 to undergo a two (2) month intensive bridging (pre-degree) programme prior to a formal admission to the following programmes after passing a selection examination. They are:

- E) PRE-HND PROGRAMME
The National Board for Professional and Technicians Examinations (NABPTEX) currently under the auspices of CTVET has designed an access course for Technical/Vocational Institute graduates into HND Programmes.

Duration – One (1) academic year (i.e. Two (2) semesters of 16 weeks per semester)
Note: Candidates would be required to obtain at least 50% in each of the three (3) subjects namely: English Language, Mathematics and Science.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- Technical/Vocational Applicants who have deficiencies in their Core Courses
- Applicants must have a minimum of Craft Course. Or
- Applicants must have MET I, MVT I and EET I or its equivalent. Or
- Applicants should have a minimum qualification of Intermediate or Craft Certificate or its equivalent from a recognized examinations body. With regards to Hospitality Management, applicants must have Cookery 812/2.
- F) CERTIFICATE PROGRAMME IN SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES – 3 MONTHS (SATURDAYS ONLY)
ENTRY REQUIREMENT
(i) Applicants with a minimum of Junior High School Certificate
(ii) Mature Applicants must be at least twenty-five (25) years old and must have relevant working experience.
- G) MODE OF APPLICATION
Applicants can only apply online via Koforidua Technical University online application portal. The procedure is as follows:
- Ghanaian Applicants for B’Tech programmes are to make a payment of One Hundred and Fifty Ghana Cedis (GH¢150.00) for the Koforidua Technical University On-line Serial Numbers (OSN) E-Vouchers at any Republic Bank, Fidelity Bank, Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) and Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) branches throughout the country.
- Foreign Applicants can purchase E-Vouchers online at the cost of Fifty US Dollars ($50.00).
- Select the specific Form to purchase. (The name and the amount are displayed)
- Enter Full Name of the Applicant
- Enter Option 1 to proceed
- Select payment option
- Enter Option 1 to confirm payment or Option 2 to cancel payment
- Authorize payment
- A bill prompt or notification is sent to applicant’s phone
- Applicant is asked to enter PIN (this is code applicant used in registering MM)
- When the correct PIN is entered successfully, payment is deducted.
- After a successful payment deduction, SERIAL NUMBER and PIN is sent to applicant by SMS
- Proceed to the next instruction (4.) after receipt of e-Voucher
- Access the Online forms by visiting our online application portal at https://applyonline.ktu.edu.gh with the e-voucher.
- When completing the on-line forms, applicants will be required to upload their passport size photographs and result slips/certificates. Note: Photographs must be on a white background.
