Programme Overview
The programme aims to offer students concrete training in Artificial Intelligence systems and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting.
Entry Requirements
SSSCE Candidates: Credit Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects, including Elective Mathematics and Physics.
WASSCE Candidates: Credit Passes (A1-C6) in six subjects comprising three core subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects, including Elective Mathematics and Physics.
Technical Exams Unit: Credit Passes (Distinction to Pass) in six subjects comprising three core subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.
General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level Candidates
Passes in three (3) subjects (at least one of the passes should be Grade D or better. Also, the applicant must have had credit passes (Grade 6) in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects, including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject (for non-science students) and an Arts subject (for science students).
Admission of Higher National Diploma (HND) Candidates to First Degree Programmes
Applicants must have graduated with a good HND certificate in Computer Science, Computer Network Management, or Information and Communication Technology (i.e., at least 2nd Class Lower Division). Applicants with the relevant HND Certificate will be placed in Level Three Hundred.
Transfer from analogous institutions
Applicants must have certified documents (transcripts) from their former institution.
Mature Applicants
- Must be at least 25 years old at the time of application, with proof (Ghana card, birth certificate, passport).
- Must pass a written aptitude test in English Language, Mathematics, and General Knowledge conducted by the University.
Foreign Qualifications
All foreign qualifications would be referred to the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) for determination of equivalences and eligibility for admission to Koforidua Technical University (National Accreditation Board Act, 2007 [Act 744 (2(2b)]). All foreign applicants must note that the American SAT, TOEFL, etc., cannot in themselves be acceptable as entry qualifications into Koforidua Technical University.
