
Previous KTU Partners with Thrive Africa to Equip Students with In-Demand Digital Skills
The Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, has officially inaugurated the Governing Council of Koforidua Technical University (KTU), with Prof. Kaku Sagary Nokoe appointed as Chairman.
Speaking at a brief but significant ceremony held at the GTEC Conference Hall, the Minister emphasized the critical role of technical universities in Ghana’s development agenda, particularly in advancing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education.
He urged KTU to deepen its focus on STEM programs to drive industrial innovation and position itself as a leader in applied research and skills development. He assured the University of Governments support and promised that KTU will be one of the Universities to benefit from the Italian government’s US$5 million grant to modernize technical education
He further stated that Ghana’s future is anchored on STEM, and institutions like KTU must lead the charge in transforming our economy through innovation and technical excellence,”.
In his acceptance speech, the newly appointed Chairman of the Council, Prof. Kaku Sagary Nokoe, expressed his gratitude to the Minister for the opportunity to serve. He affirmed that the Council will champion curriculum that addresses Ghana’s evolving needs, promote industry partnerships that dignifies local ingenuity, and uphold institutional values that echoes the moral fiber and reset agenda of our nation.
He pledged to lead collaboratively, listen attentively, and act promptly and decisively to elevate KTU from excellence to eminence.
The reconstituted Council includes a distinguished team of academics, professionals, and public servants.
