
Previous KTU’S FIRST CHANCELLOR HONOURED BY AWARD RECIPIENT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF GHANA
As part of activities celebrating 20 years of the Computer Science Department and its Students Association, a Research Colloquium was held to showcase cutting-edge developments in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML).
To honour this milestone, two distinguished alumni who recently earned their Ph.D. degrees delivered impactful presentations:
Justice Williams Asare (Ph.D.), Assistant Lecturer, Computer Science Department, KTU — “A Multi-Architecture Convolutional Network Model for Detecting Anaemia in Children”
Victor Agbesi (Ph.D.), Visiting Speaker — “A Robust Deep Learning Framework for Imbalanced Text Classification”
The event attracted lecturers and students from across the University, sparking thought-provoking discussions and insightful questions.
In his closing remarks, the Head of Department, Ebenezer Komla Gavua, commended the active participation and emphasised the importance of organising more research-driven events aligned with the University’s strategic research direction.
