As part of our commitment to student health, Koforidua Technical University (KTU) requires all newly admitted students to undergo a compulsory medical examination before registration is completed.
Purpose of the Medical Examination
The medical examination helps the University:
- Determine the general health and fitness of students for academic life
- Identify any medical conditions that may require special attention or support
- Ensure a healthy and safe learning environment for all students and staff
Requirements
All fresh students must:
- Report to the University’s Health Services Unit (located on campus) at the beginning of the academic year.
- Present their admission letter and valid identification (e.g., admission printout or student ID, if available).
- Undergo a full physical and laboratory screening, which may include:
- Vital signs and physical check-up
- Vision test
- Urine and blood tests
- Chest X-ray (if required)
- Any additional screenings as recommended by the medical team
Issuance of Medical Clearance
Upon successful completion of the examination:
- Students will be issued a Medical Clearance Certificate, which is required for final registration.
- Those with medical conditions requiring attention will be counseled and guided on available support services.
Important Notes
- Medical examinations are strictly conducted by the University’s health team; external reports are not accepted.
- Failure to complete the medical examination may delay or invalidate your registration.
- Students are advised to undergo the examination early to avoid long queues and late processing.
