KTU Signs Strategic Mou With Furnart Ghana Ltd. To Bolster Technical And Industrial Collaboration

Koforidua Technical University (KTU) has once again demonstrated its commitment to fostering industry-academia collaboration by signing a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Furnart Ghana Limited, a leading manufacturer in the furniture and wood-processing sector.

The MoU outlines a framework for cooperation between the two institutions, with specific focus on practical training, internship placement, student projects, collaborative research, staff development, and technology transfer. The agreement will also facilitate the development of innovative furniture designs and sustainable production methods through joint ventures.

Present at the ceremony were members of the university management, including representatives from the International Programmes and Institutional Linkages (IPIL) office, as well as Heads of Department from Environmental Management and Technology (EMT) and Renewable Energy Engineering. The leadership of Furnart Ghana Ltd. was represented by the Chief Executive Officer and the Head of Finance.

The CEO of Furnart Ghana Ltd. expressed enthusiasm about the partnership and pledged the company’s full support to KTU in co-developing curricula that align with industry needs. He emphasized that the partnership represents a win-win for both parties and for national development.

The MoU marks another milestone in KTU’s strategic mission to promote applied research, skills development, and industry linkages in alignment with Ghana’s industrialization agenda.
