About the Faculty
The Faculty of Health and Allied Sciences (FHAS) is one of the fastest-growing faculties at Koforidua Technical University. The Faculty offers a wide range of academic programmes and also undertakes applied research activities which are related to health and allied sciences. FHAS meets the requirements of the Ghana Accreditation Board and also attunes itself to the standards that regard the professional accreditation of all its allied health programmes.
The mandate of the Faculty is to provide quality training, research and services in health and related fields in Ghana. Some of the main courses undertaken in the Faculty are Haematology, Parasitology, Histology, Chemical Pathology, Microbiology, Virology, Histopathology, Biomechanics, Biosensors, Bioinformatics, Medical Physics/Medical Imaging, Biomaterials, Medical Image/Signal Processing, Design and Construction of Medical Instrumentation, Rehabilitation Engineering, and Hospital Equipment Management.
Our faculty is made up of staff who have relevant professional and industry experience. Through rigorous student-practical attachment, our continuous engagement with industry and stakeholders and innovative scientific research, the faculty fulfils its mandate of training competent health professionals for hospitals, health institutions, and industries.
