Dr. Vida Opoku Edusei

Dr. Vida Opoku Edusei is a Senior Lecturer and the Head of the Department of Food and Postharvest Technology at Koforidua Technical University (KTU). She is an accomplished academic, researcher, and administrator with over fourteen (14) years of experience in teaching, research, student supervision, curriculum development, academic leadership, and community service.

Throughout her career at KTU, Dr. Edusei has made significant contributions to academic programme development and quality assurance. She has been actively involved in the development and review of curricula for Higher National Diploma (HND), Bachelor of Technology (BTech), and Master of Technology (MTech) programmes in Food and Postharvest Technology. She also served as the Industrial Liaison Coordinator for the Department, facilitating industry-academia collaborations and practical training opportunities for students.

Her leadership capabilities have seen her take on several strategic administrative roles within the University. She served as Cognate Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department, where she successfully led the development, accreditation, and approval of the BTech Biomedical Engineering, BTech Rehabilitation Engineering, and Certificate in Biomedical Equipment Technology programmes. She also served as Acting Dean of the Faculty of Health and Allied Sciences and has contributed to the work of numerous university committees.

Dr. Edusei is a member of the team that developed the successful proposal for the Nkabom Collaborative–KTU Project, funded by the Mastercard Foundation in 2025. She currently serves as the Education Lead for the project, supporting initiatives aimed at transforming educational opportunities and enhancing student success.

Her research and professional work focus on sustainable food systems, postharvest management, food processing technologies, food loss reduction, and agrifood value addition. Through her research, she seeks to develop innovative and sustainable solutions that improve food security, reduce postharvest losses, and promote value addition within agricultural value chains.
